One of the fights at about 1am was caused by idiots on top balcony intentionally pouring their drinks on the dancers below..

maybe they were trying to cool the dancers down??

i must admit there were a few kids there last nite all of em on one thing or another or couldnt handle there drink, ive been goin to koko for yearsand me an sue have got quite freindly with 4 or 5 of the door staff and believe me they have so much shit to sort out, which is why they shut the doors after 2am cos the majority of fights start about that time,i was accully outside where a bloke and bird were waitin for a fella to come out,he did and walked on to a right hander, the police were outside and in the cluyb they come out and did nothin just told em to go seperate ways,it was blattent assualt and all the time the womens shoutin at the police that shes comin back to shoot up the club(so at the end of the day dont blame the doormen thy do their jobs the best they can)apart from the minority of cocks tryin to spoil it 4 the majority of us ravers we didnt let it and what a night we had a,the photos are up on here and on sassy snaps on facebook.
big up to phil ram huck ped and mad all not forgettin the wicked wicked dj mr t(still cant believe u listen to my show mate, top stuff) the mixin wasnt the problem as many of u herd.........how many times did mrt philgood and huck tel thesound engineers to sort it out, some of the djs have been on the scene for more years than uve been alive, many i no personally and do there jobs with passion,to makethe night enjoyable for us the PAYIN raver....u no what promised land is about if u dont like the djs or mixin or whatever dont come>but the rest of who no what a special nite it is see u at the next one

i thought the quality of mixing was fine apart from maybe just one or two specific mixes, including one time i think someone bumped into the decks. it was too choppy at times though, the odd bit of cutting / teasing the next tune is great but sometimes 'less is more'.

tune selection was excellent as always although i could do without the usual section of (mostly obvious overplayed) '92 hardcore anthems - i guess it helps give overall structure with a peak in energy in the middle of the night but it's supposed to be a house event. Top Selector on the night goes to Ped, B-side mix of Total Confusion always gets me misting up.

i see the trainer ban didn't prevent the outbreaks of trouble. hopefully the venue will revert the dresscode policy ...or more probably drop clubnights altogether to focus on gigs.

i usually dance towards the back of the dancefloor and am quite used to getting splashed from above, intentionally or otherwise. it's always best to dance under the balcony rather than in front of it!

i don't smoke myself but i did notice on the way out that there's a sign saying that there's no smoking after 3am. certainly sounds like it needs to be made clearer though plus they need to monitor indoor smoking more!

agreed

but i think they should concentrate more on peoples ages. there are always loads of kids getting in there and this should be addressed as most of the trouble is caused by the under age kids whos idea of fun is seeing who can get the most off thier faces.

good point. it's supposed to be 21+ isn't it? they were probably too busy looking at footwear to check ID!

a mate of mine (a PL regular) ended up going to another club instead cos they had an 18 y.o. in their group. didn't even try to get in at Koko but they'd probably've got away with it!

as i said in the trainer thread though, the rave scene shouldn't exclude people. i'm sure there are plenty of young ravers that don't cause trouble - and older folk that do! the (as Andy said, overworked) security team need to monitor and eject as appropriate!

The thing is they get off it but dont understand what the vibe is all about.
The drunk head girls in front of me on the dance floor did not have a clue what the music was all about.
They had just gone "clubbing" and were clueless, then the boyfriends came along and lo and behold within a few minutes they were fighting !!!!
Maybe you could ask the young ones at the door if they know what music is on and if they dont dont let them in !!!!!

i say let's have a door quiz! doorman has a walkman with speakers and plays a line from Where Love Lives or Right Before My Eyes - if they can't sing the next line then no entry. haha!
